  • NAME
printconf - automatically configure attached USB and parallel printers
  • SYNOPSIS
      printconf [--dry-run] [--verbose]
  • DESCRIPTION
This manual page briefly documents the printconf command.

printconf automatically detects and optionally configures printers attached to Linux-based systems using the Foomatic printing system.
  • OPTIONS
      -n, --dry-run, --no-action
Detect printers, but don't actually configure them.  This option is useful for testing purposes.
      -v, --verbose
Show additional progress information, including notification of devices for which no autodetection data was found.
  • NOTES
Autodetection of parallel printers may require your computer's parallel port to be in "bidirectional," "EPP," or "ECP/EPP" mode; this is a setting in your computer's BIOS.
  • SEE ALSO
